State Centre of Excellence for Nutrition Rehabilitation, Resource and Training (SCoENRRT) established in August, 2018 at Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital for Children, Mumbai, Maharashtra to support and strengthen the facility and community based management of SAM in the State. The SCoENRRT acts as a knowledge hub that supports the State in planning, implementation, stakeholders liaisoning, research and analysis, report sharing for review and actions, capacity building and conducts monitoring and supportive supervision field visits to NRCs and CSAM sites. These activities help to improve the technical capacity for the treatment and management of children with SAM in both facility and community. SCoENRRT also manages children with SAM and medical complications in Pediatric wards using locally prepared therapeutic feeds along with the Nutrition Rehabilitation Centre established at the Hospital. All OPD patients screened for SAM by an NGO are appropriately treated and managed as per the protocols of Facility-based Management of SAM.
