West Bengal: State Resource Centre for Nutrition, College of Medicine & Sagore Dutta Hospital, Kolkata

State Resource Centre (SRC) for Nutrition, established in 2019, at College of Medicine Sagore Dutta Medical College & Hospital, Kolkata with approval of Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of West Bengal and supported by UNICEF, West Bengal. The State Resource Centre for Nutrition was conceptualized to play a crucial role in providing sustainable technical guidance and expertise to the State Departments for Integrated Management of SAM and Infant and Young child feeding. A SAM management unit along with a linked Nutrition OPD and lactation counselling centres have been operational since 2019.  Data analysis, monitoring and review of NRCs is done by a dedicated Programme Management Unit. Since its inception, the Centre has been engaging in building the technical capacity of State Resource groups. The SRC will progressively take up documentation, evidence generation especially for CMAM programming and knowledge management and resource development for both SAM management and Infant and Young Child Feeding.
