State Centre of Excellence (SCoE) for Management of Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) established in October, 2019 at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Ranchi, Jharkhand in collaboration with the Department of Health, Medical Education & Family Welfare (including NHM Jharkhand), State Nutrition Mission, ICDS with the technical support of UNICEF, Jharkhand & NCoE-SAM, KSCH, New Delhi. The SCoE is also linked with the other five state medical colleges viz. Dumka Medical College, Hazaribagh Medical College, MGM Jamshedpur, Patliputra Medical college, Dhanbad & Palamu Medical College of Jharkhand to ensure quality care in FSAM and outreach activities. The State CoE provides technical support in policy implementation, capacity building, knowledge management, research and analysis for review and actions, monitoring & supportive supervision for improving quality of care for both Community and Facility based Management of SAM programmes.
